Lover Fest was set for July-August 2021
Taylor Swift has canceled her Lover Fest shows set for July 2021. The pop star shared the news via her Instagram Story on Friday (Feb 26th), citing she’s sad about the news.
“I’m so sorry, but I cannot reschedule the shows that we’ve postponed. Although refunds have been available since we first postponed the Lover Fest shows, many of you hung onto your tickets and I too hung onto the idea that we could reschedule,” she writes.
The statement continues, “This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future. I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to. I miss you terribly and can’t wait til we can all safely be at shows together again.”
Lover Fest West and Lover Fest East were Swift’s only scheduled performances in 2020 before being pushed back due to the pandemic. Lover Fest West would’ve seen Swift become the first woman in history to open an NFL Stadium when she played SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Lover Fest East was set for Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
No additional details were available as of press time.
Earlier this month, Swift announced the 16 track re-recorded version of her 2008 sophomore album Fearless. The album’s first single, “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” debuted atop of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, marking the first in eight years that her name has appeared there. She last held the spot for ten weeks in 2012-2013 with “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” The milestone also marks the first time one of her songs debuted at No. 1 on the chart.
Fearless (Taylor’s Version) drops April 9th via Republic Records and is available on 2 CD, 3 LP metallic gold vinyl, 2 cassette and digitally. Each will include unique photos and artwork, including a recreation of the original in a sepia tone. The CD will include complete album lyrics with never before seen artwork and photos.
