Swift enlists Morris to sing backup on unreleased song

Taylor Swift is set to release the first of six vault tracks from her forthcoming Fearless (Taylor’s Version)a re-recorded version of her 2008 sophomore album due April 9th via Republic Records. “You All Over Me (From The Vault)” is an unheard track that features Maren Morris on backing vocals.

“One thing I’ve been loving about these From The Vault songs is that they’ve never been heard, so I can experiment, play, and even include some of my favorite artists. I’m really excited to have @MarenMorris singing background vocals on this song!!” Swift shares.

The song, produced by Aaron Dessner and co-written by Scooter Carusoe,  drops Friday morning (Mar 26th) at midnight ET/9 pm PT Thursday night.

Fearless (Taylor’s Versions) is the first of her six Big Machine Label Group studio albums she’s re-recording since leaving the label in 2018 and signing with Universal Music Group. Her original masters were part of the sale of Big Machine in 2019 when Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings LLC purchased the label. Braun then sold Swift’s Big Machine catalog masters to Shamrock Holdings for upwards of $300 million in 2019. Swift has been at odds with the label, founder Scott Borchetta and Braun over the past couple of years as she’s attempted to purchase the masters to no avail while also being caught up in live performing rights of the same songs.

Fearless (Taylor’s Versions) features 26 songs across 2 CDs and 3 LPs with six never-before-heard songs from the vault. Other collabs, including one with once-rival Katy Perry, could be on the horizon, but that is just rumored at this point.

Swift dropped the updated edition’s first single “Love Story” in February after a snippet of the true to original re-recording appeared in a Match.com ad late last year.
