The film will feature three additional songs not shown theatrically

Taylor Swift is set to release an extended version of her The Eras Tour concert film digitally with three additional songs. The global pop star says the release will come on her birthday on December 13th.

“Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!” Swift shares on social media. “Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer’ and ‘Long Live’ will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13.”

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, which was filmed during a six-night stand at LA’s SoFi Stadium in August, opened theatrically in October, raking in more than $178 million domestically and $248.95 million globally to land the biggest debut of all time for a concert film. The film spans more than two and a half hours and features over three dozen songs, omitting several from the three-and-a-half-hour live show, including “Cardigan” and “No Body No Crime” with Haim.

Swift bypassed major studios and worked directly with AMC for the theatrical release. It took less than 24 hours for the Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour to shatter AMC’s US record for the highest ticket sales revenue during a single day in AMC’s 103-year history. Advanced ticket sales were strong across the United States, from the largest cities to the smallest towns, and are particularly strong in premium large-screen formats like IMAX, Dolby Cinema, Prime at AMC, and other branded premium experiences.

The 53-date North American leg of the tour was attended by more than three million Taylor Swift fans. Not only did it shatter all concert sales records, but it also left tens of millions of adoring fans wanting more, either because they attended the concert and wanted to see it again, or after being unable to obtain tickets for sold out performance after sold out performance.

The tour is expected to gross $2 million by the time it wraps with a second North American leg of 17 dates in November 2024. The trek makes Swift the highest-grossing female artist and The Eras Tour the largest-ever grossing tour in US history.

The newly minted billionaire recently shattered records with the release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Upon its release late last month, the album bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Top Album Sales, Vinyl Albums and Top Streaming Albums charts this week with over 1.6 million units in the US and over 3.5 million globally. This achievement notably makes her, “The First Artist To Score Six #1 Album Debuts With Over 1 Million Units Sold” in history. Impressively, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) has notched the “Biggest First-Week Sales for a Re-recorded Album Ever” and emerged as the “First Album To Debut With 1 Million Units Sold First-Week Twice” in 2014 and 2023. Plus, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) actually eclipsed the 2014 first-week sales of 1989, making it “The First Taylor’s Version To Net a Bigger Debut than the Original” with over 1.6 million total consumption.

Last week, Swift took home a whopping ten trophies at the Billboard Music Awards, bringing her career total to 39 wins. She now ties Drake as the most decorated BBMA winner of all time.
