Thirty Seconds To Mars, which consists of brothers Jared and Shannon Leto, has released their newest single “Stuck” via Concord Records. This propulsive single sets the groundwork for a new Thirty Seconds To Mars era.

The single is accompanied by a music video directed by Jared that is a celebration of the human form, minimalist design, high fashion, art and dance. Filled with energy, it focuses on an incredibly unique cast of characters who interpret the song with movement, metaphor and action.

“Thanks to my incredibly creative mother, my brother and I were instilled with a love for art and photography from a very young age,” Jared shares. “The video for ‘Stuck,’ our first new song in five years, is a love letter to some of my favorite photographers. Artists who made a very deep impact on me like Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Robert Mapplethorpe, Diane Arbus, Herb Ritts and more. Artists whose work changed the way I saw things and showed me new possibilities at every turn.”

“I wrote it from the perspective of a narrator who simply can’t help himself from plunging headfirst into what will likely be a doomed romance,” he adds. “(‘The more I drift, the closer I get to you / She’s a ghost, and the truth it’s impossible / But I love her lies.’). It’s about knowing you need to get out but simply being unable to, whether that’s from fear or comfort or confusion, hence being ‘Stuck.'”

Their sixth studio album, It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day, will be released this September. Five years following the release of their chart-topping album, America, Thirty Seconds To Mars is releasing music unlike ever before. Throughout their career, the band has continued to push themselves to evolve and expand. Their new focus is on being simple and concise, with no songs longer than three-and-a-half minutes and an emphasis on Jared’s emotive, straight-from-the-heart vocals.

The lead single and fashion focused music video comes shortly after Jared attended “fashion’s biggest night out” and made his fifth appearance at The Met Gala. Jared attended the Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty themed Gala to honor Karl posthumously. Arriving on the carpet with a fun play on Karl’s beloved cat, Choupette, he then transformed to reveal a second Lagerfeld look.

Later this month, Thirty Seconds To Mars will be taking the main stage at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and in August, the band will be making their return to Lollapalooza for the first time since 2006. This marks the third time overall the band has taken the stage at Lollapalooza. To continue on their festival streak, Thirty Seconds To Mars will also be playing at the sold out When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas in October, with more festival dates to be announced shortly.
