Tim McGraw shares ‘King Rodeo (Live From the Inaugural Music City Rodeo)’

The debut performance of the new track is available now

Three-time Grammy winner and icon Tim McGraw has released his new song “King Rodeo (Live from the Inaugural Music City Rodeo)” via Big Machine. The track is a live recording from its debut performance during McGraw’s headlining set at the first-ever Music City Rodeo in May.

The track opens with McGraw’s introduction to fans, “We’ve been working on a new record and we thought that this song was appropriate for the night.” It’s a stripped down and vulnerable performance, incorporating the cheers and buzz from the sold-out crowd at Bridgestone Arena, that highlights McGraw’s emotive storytelling.

The video for the song is set to premiere on YouTube at 11 am ET/8 am PT. Following the premiere, there will be an exclusive YouTube AfterParty for YouTube Premium subscribers. This exclusive video highlights the journey behind McGraw’s creation and performance of the song and its connection to the rodeo itself. Featured in the video are World Champion riders Cody Custer and Tim O’Connell, as well as World-ranked bareback rider Cole Reiner.

“King Rodeo (Live from the Inaugural Music City Rodeo)” was written by McGraw and Tom Douglas and is produced by Byron Gallimore, Denny Hemingson, and McGraw.

The track follows the spring release of “Paper Umbrellas,” featuring Parker McCollum, a fresh take on the fan-favorite track from McGraw’s 2023 album Standing Room Only.

On August 30th, McGraw will play the first-ever concert at the site where the iconic movie Field of Dreams was filmed in Dyersville, Iowa. Located in the heart of Iowa, this concert will be a must-see for country music fans and devotees of the 1989 Kevin Costner film. The Field of Dreams movie site allows visitors to walk the historic field, attend baseball events, and experience unique festivals. The concert date, August 30th, coincides with his late father’s birthday, legendary MLB player Tug McGraw.

Additional dates will follow through the fall.

Last fall, the country superstar earned his 45th No. 1 single at country radio — 49th overall — with “One Bad Habit.” McGraw also extended his record for the longest span between his first No. 1 and the most recent to a staggering 30 years and six months.
