The event provides over 10k meals this Thanksgiving holiday

Country music 90s icon and philanthropist Tracy Lawrence hosted his 18th Annual Mission: Possible Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert in Nashville yesterday (Tues, Nov 21st). The day kicked off at the Nashville Fairgrounds with over 250 volunteers who helped fry over 1,200 turkeys that will be distributed throughout Middle Tennessee, providing over 10k meals to those in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. Building on that momentum, Lawrence was joined by Lee Brice, Priscilla Block and Halfway to Hazard for a packed-out benefit concert at Wildhorse Saloon and donated another $250k towards Mission: Possible’s long-time partner, Nashville Rescue Mission. The yearly event has now provided more than 86k meals to the homeless across Middle Tennessee and raised over $1 million for Nashville Rescue Mission.

“I’m very proud of what Mission: Possible has grown into over the last 18 years,” Lawrence shares. “To see hundreds of volunteers frying turkeys for hours is nothing short of incredible. I want to thank Lee, Priscilla and Halfway to Hazard for being a part of this memorable and giving event.”

The Turkey Fry kicked off bright and early at the Nashville Fairgrounds — the second year at the upgraded location to accommodate the growing event — with Lawrence kicking off the daytime event by dropping the first turkey into the fryer. Lawrence’s cause called upon star-studded helping hands including Gary Allan, Chris Young, Jamey Johnson, Ian Munsick, Travis Denning, Phil Vassar, Spencer Crandall, Frank Ray, David Lee Murphy, Trey Lewis, Kasey Tyndall, Noah Thompson and the evening’s performers including Halfway to Hazard. The charity event brought in dozens of industry members and the greater Nashville community to lend a hand in the massive undertaking.

In 2022, the annual Thanksgiving week concert raised $250,000– which was previously the largest sum raised by the Turkey Fry event to date. Each year, Lawrence and his wife Becca Lawrence continue to find ways to help more communities in need. Past performers have included country favorites such as Tim McGraw, Luke Combs, Chris Young, Lainey Wilson, Justin Moore, Cole Swindell and more.

Following on the success of the Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert series, Mission: Possible launched an annual Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament in 2020. The springtime fundraiser has raised more than $1.1 million towards various Middle Tennessee homeless charities in only three years. Past attendees of the springtime staple event include Kid Rock, Charles Kelley, Jake Owen, Jordan Davis, Hardy, Deana Carter, Mitchell Tenpenny, Ernest, Jamey Johnson, Colt Ford, John Daly, Brett Hull and Rex Ryan.
