Song delivers 90s country vibes

Ty Herndon and Terri Clark have teamed for “Dents on a Chevy,” the second song from Herndon’s Jacob album. The track is produced by Jimmy Thow and written by Starner Jones, Leslie Satcher, and Will Robinson.

“Getting to duet with my friend Terri Clark on this track is like a dream come true,” Herndon shares. “The second I heard this, I knew it had to go on my album ‘JACOB’ as a tribute to all those people in our lives who just fit — our husbands, wives, partners, best friends, and family members. Having people in our lives we can count on through the good times and the bad is so important, and this song is for them.”

Herndon made a historic return to country radio with new material in 2022 with his single, “Till You Get There,” from his album, Jacob. The track spent over five months on the Music Row Breakout Chart last year, peaking at 28 just before the end of the year. His Christmas duet, “Sweet Christmas Memories,” featured in the hit Netflix original film, The Noel Diary, peaked at No. 1 on the Mediabase chart featuring country holiday airplay.

“We had a great run with the first single — ‘Till You Get There’ — but that was just a warm-up for what’s to come,” Herndon adds. “I’m so excited for ‘Dents On a Chevy’ to head to radio as the second single from my album Jacob. Jimmy Thow’s production and Terri Clark’s vocals send this track to the stratosphere, and I hope listeners will be turning their radios up — in their Chevys, of course — and thinking of the people in their lives who this song might apply to.”

Herdon and Clark were both staples on country radio throughout the 90s. Herndon burst onto the scene and made his chart debut in 1995 with “What Mattered Most,” which became his first No. 1 song and garnered a Song of the Year Award from Music Row Magazine. It was also the title track to his first album, which debuted on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and had the biggest first-week shipment in the history of Epic Records Nashville.

Clark also made her debut in 1995 with “Better Things To Do” from her self-titled album. The song peaked at No. 3 on the Canadian and US country charts. She’s released more than 20 singles to country radio, landing six at No. 1.
