Eleven new dates expand through mid-February

Due to overwhelming demand, U2 is extending their highly-anticipated U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere into 2024. Eleven new dates have been added for January and February as Bono, The Edge and Adam Clayton with Bram van den Berg, who’s “deputizing” the drum throne while Larry Mullen Jr. recuperates from surgery, provide fans with a fully immersive experience featuring top-of-the-line technology, celebrating the band’s acclaimed 1991 album Achtung Baby, as well as its accompanying industry-defining Zoo TV Tour which broke the mold in 1991.

The announcement comes after the first nine sold-out shows to meet the overwhelming demand for U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere, a first-of-its-kind live music experience that ushers in a new era of live entertainment with the world’s biggest rock band, U2, in the world’s most cutting-edge venue, Sphere.

All U2.com paid subscribers are eligible to submit a ticket request for the eleven newly added shows, even if they have requested or secured tickets for previously announced dates. The presale opens Thursday, October 19th at 10 am PT and closes Saturday, October 21st at 10 pm PT. Ticket confirmations will be sent out by the evening of Tuesday, October 24th.

Tickets will be available during a general on sale starting on Wednesday, October 25th at 11 am local time via Ticketmaster.

In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, GA floor tickets will be restricted from transfer. They may only be resold at the original purchase price. Fans will still have protection against unforeseen circumstances. Those who purchase tickets and are no longer able to attend their show will be able to sell their tickets at the price they paid using the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange.

At each U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere performance, 50 tickets to experience the show from an exclusive VIP riser will be made available for purchase benefitting (RED), the organization founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006 to fight AIDS and the injustices that enable pandemics to thrive.

The news follows U2’s new track “Atomic City” taking the top spot on Billboard’s Alternative Digital Song Sales Chart, marking their first No. 1 and fifth Top 10 on this chart. The track has also landed in the top five at Triple A radio and is climbing.

U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere marks U2’s first live concerts in four years and Sphere at The Venetian in Las Vegas will be the only place fans can see the show, now expanded to 36 dates. The groundbreaking Sphere features next-generation Sphere Immersive Sound, powered by HoloPlot, which provides crystal-clear, individualized sound to every seat in Sphere, giving fans the same mix no matter where they sit or stand. The system consists of approximately 1,600 permanently installed and 300 mobile HoloPlot X1 Matrix Array loudspeaker modules and includes a total of 167,000 individually amplified loudspeaker drivers.

The venue contains 160,000 square feet of LEDs, which equate to four football fields, marking a cutting-edge immersive experience. The world’s largest spherical venue contains a 580,000 square foot fully-programmable LED exterior, containing 1.2 million LED pucks, spaced eight inches apart. Each puck contains 48 individual LED diodes, with each diode capable of displaying 256 million different colors – creating a vivid new landmark on the Las Vegas skyline.

Vibee, the Live Nation-founded destination experience company and VIP package provider for the band’s Sphere shows, has developed Zoo Station: A U2:UV Experience, the ultimate hub for fans. The fan portal, which officially opened on September 28th inside the Venetian was created to support U2’s groundbreaking run of shows at the state-of-the-art venue.

Developed in collaboration with Gavin Friday, U2’s longtime Creative Director, and with direct input from the band, Zoo Station comprises more than 12,000 square feet of interactive exhibit space across two floors. Fans can explore U2’s celebrated album Achtung Baby through interactive experiences, the Anton Corbijn Gallery, limited edition merchandise, VIP lounges, and more.
