Track appears on forthcoming The Willie Nelson Family

Willie Nelson and his family have released “All Things Must Pass,” a cover of the George Harrison track. The reinterpretation appears on the forthcoming The Willie Nelson Family album due November 19th via Legacy Recordings, and comes a year after Harrison’s first post-Beatles album celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The cover premiered on Dark Horse Radio, a new weekly show dedicated to the music that George Harrison wrote, sang and loved, on SiriusXM’s The Beatles Channel (Ch. 18) and Willie’s Roadhouse (Ch. 59) on Thursday, October 28th.

“Working with family, creating music, is pure bliss,” states Lukas Nelson, who helms lead vocals on the cover. “What a gift that we were all able to come together and celebrate the power of music during these troubled times. The spirit in this music is strong. I am grateful to have been a part of this experience.”

“All Things Must Pass” was preceded by the release of The Willie Nelson Family’s first single, “Family Bible,” a newly-recorded version of one of Willie’s earliest compositions, on Thursday, September 23rd.

Produced by Willie Nelson and Steve Chadie, The Willie Nelson Family was recorded and mixed by Chadie at Pedernales Studios in Austin, Texas.

The Willie Nelson Family is the third new Willie Nelson studio album to be released on Legacy since July 2020. First Rose of Spring, released July 3, 2020, entered the Billboard Top Country Albums chart at No. 5, making Nelson the first artist to score a Top 10 album in every decade — seven in all — since Billboard launched its Top Country Albums chart in January 1964; First Rose of Spring is Nelson’s 53rd Top 10 album. Nelson’s second collection of standards from the Frank Sinatra repertoire, That’s Life, released February 26, 2021, debuted at No. 1 on both Billboard’s Jazz Albums chart and the Traditional Jazz Albums chart.
