Final episodes stream in 2022
Dolly Parton is reuniting with her 9 to 5 co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin on the series finale of the Netflix series, Grace and Frankie, according to Deadline. Production on the long-running series wrapped earlier this week. Plot details and character information have not been revealed as of press time.
The final 12 episodes of its seventh and final season will drop sometime in 2022. The first four were released earlier this fall and were filmed before the pandemic shut down production. Grace and Frankie is Netflix’s longest running series with 94 episodes produced.
The series stars Fonda as Grace, Tomlin as Frankie, Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, June Diane Raphael, Brooklyn Decker, Peter Gallagher and others. Tomlin has earned four Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the comedy series.
Parton, Fonda and Tomlin starred in 9 to 5 in 1980 which grossed nearly $104 million at the box office. In the film, the trio live out their fantasies of getting even with their egotistical, sexist and tyrannical boss played by Dabney Coleman. The film shot Parton into a pop culture phenomenon and her song “9 to 5” became an instant classic.
