Show featured more than 20 performances

The results are in for the 57th Annual Academy of Country (ACM) Awards. Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson and Carly Pearce were big winners as the only acts to take home multiple awards from the night. The show also saw Chris Stapleton, Old Dominion, Morgan Wallen and others take home trophies. Chris Young led the nominations with 10, but walked away empty handed.

The two-hour event was hosted by Dolly Parton alongside co-hosts Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett, the two-hour concert event of the year live streamed globally without commercial interruption on Prime Video from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The Academy’s highest honor, Entertainer of the Year, was awarded to Miranda Lambert for the first time. Due to a commitment with the C2C Festival in Europe, it was the first time in 17 years she was unable to attend the annual outing. However, she accepted her award via a video message.

“I’ve been waiting for this for a really, really long time. I actually never thought it would happen,” Lambert says. “This one goes out to all the singer/songwriter girls out there that are putting their blood, sweat and tears into their guitar strings… we did it!”

Wilson led the night in total wins with three, followed by Lambert and Pearce with two wins apiece. Lambert is the most awarded artist in ACM history and also took home Video of the Year trophy for current Top 10 single “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Elle King. Pearce and Ashley McBryde won Music Event of the Year for “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” which was awarded in an off-camera ceremony earlier in the day.

Michael Hardy was announced as the ACM Award Songwriter of the Year. Parker McCollum and Lainey Wilson were each crowed New Male Artist of the Year and New Female Artist of the Year, respectively.

Single of the Year went to Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood for their duet “If I Didn’t Love You.” Underwood’s been spending more time in Vegas as she was the first artist to open the new Resorts World Theater with a headlining residency in December. During a backstage press interview following the show, I asked Underwood if fans could expect new music and a tour from her this year.

“I’m always always working on something. Obviously, we can’t spill too many beans right now, but my fans know what I mean when I say, ‘Soon… soon,'” she says with a laugh. “They actually hate it when I use that word because they’re like ‘What does that mean?’ but it’s been busy for sure.”

This year’s 57th ACM Awards featured an all-star lineup of memorable performances and collaborations featuring 22 performances from 28 artists.

The show had plenty of first-time moments for an awards ceremony. The ACMs are the first major award show to livestream. The show also featured a 30 minute performance block that hasn’t been attempted before.

On March 8th beginning at 8 pm EST/5 pm PST, fans will be able to relive all of the excitement of the entire 57th Academy of Country Music Awards ceremony on IMDb TV, Amazon’s premium free streaming service, as well as a special rebroadcast of performances. On March 10th at 8 pm EST/5 pm PST, Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers can also watch the Awards in the Amazon Music app.
