Song features Medium Build

Virgin Music recording artists X Ambassadors release their latest single “Friend For Life” featuring Medium Build as a part of their (Eg) collaborative singles project. The lyrics of “Friend For Life” celebrate the little things that make up a friendship with a distorted guitar driven sing-along. The DIY sound of the song harkens back to a time when

X Ambassadors were writing songs in a basement with their best friends. The verses recall “…spending our money on CDs, weed, and cigarettes” only for gratitude to spill over on the riff-y refrain, “I just want to thank you for being my Friend For Life.”

Not straying from the theme of the song, the video shows X Ambassadors delivering an impassioned performance alongside Medium Build as they laugh and jump around in a garage. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of “Friend For Life” after X Ambassadors viral preview on TikTok was released, amassing over 1.7 million views.

“I was introduced to Medium Build through a song called ‘Come On Back,’ which seemed to be about a reunion of two old friends. The way he wrote about friendship just struck a chord with me. It resonated because of issues I’ve had with my friends. We have such a deep bond as a band—we’re family,” shares X Ambassador lead vocalist Sam Nelson. “After COVID and time passing so quickly, we’re all realizing how unique it is to be in a band that you consider to be family. Casey and I are actually related by blood, but Adam is as much of a brother as Casey is. Friendship isn’t spoken of enough and it’s a topic we want to hear more about in music, so we wrote the song.”

They recently released their first single as a part of their new deal with Virgin Music and previous addition to (Eg), “Happy People” featuring Teddy Swims & Jac Ross, on May 24th.

“Friend For Life” continues the band’s (Eg) collaborative singles project with their new label, which highlights the band’s songwriting/producing abilities.

X Ambassadors are currently on a summer tour in Europe before heading back to North America to perform in July.
