The cover will benefit three UK charities
Yungblud has released a version of “Changes (Live From Villa Park/Back to the Beginning)” recorded live at Black Sabbath’s farewell concert in Birmingham, UK, on Saturday, July 5th. The track is available via Capitol/Locomotion/Island.
The live version features Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, Anthrax bassist Frank Bello, Ozzy Osbourne keyboardist Adam Wakeman, and Sleep Token drummer II. The track is a breathtaking rendition of the 1972 song featuring a powerhouse lead vocal by the 27-year-old British artist, who was a standout of the eight-hour, all-star spectacle. Delivered in front of over 40,000 fans at the band’s home stadium, the performance was part of a moving send-off for a group widely regarded as “The Founders of Metal.”
Yungblud dropped the track, announcing that all proceeds will be donated to Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
“This was hands down the biggest moment of my entire life. I got to stand on stage and honor one of my heroes, and the fact that it has touched so many is truly overwhelming,” Yungblud shares. “The best part about this release is that we can take such a monumental moment, immortalize it on tape, release it and donate all the money to such important causes in Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice. This is what rock and roll is about. Stream it, buy it, add it to your playlist – let’s raise some fucking money.”
Last week, Yungblud shared a video online that captured a tender moment between him and Black Sabbath’s legendary frontman, Ozzy Osbourne, ahead of the concert. In the video, the young artist is seen gifting Osbourne a custom piece of jewelry. Yungblud is heard saying, “Thank you for everything” as Ozzy embraces the star with a kiss on the head.
Yungblud’s performance on the single received the seal of approval from Osbourne, who said, “He did an amazing job. I couldn’t have done it better myself.”
Mercury Studios has also announced that Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow will see its theatrical debut in early 2026. The feature-length concert film is currently in production and will celebrate the enduring legacy of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. A physical component will be released later in 2026.
The event, which featured performances by Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Pantera, and many others, became the highest-grossing charity concert of all time.
On August 23rd, Yungblud’s sold-out 16-date North American headlining Idles Tour will start in Los Angeles, CA, with support from Sawyer Hill across all dates.
