All fans will be refunded
Jon Bon Jovi is refunding fans who were on the Runaway with JBJ Halloween weekend getaway in Miami. After testing positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, Oct 30th, JBJ was forced to cancel a solo band performance moments before he was set to take the stage. The event’s promotor, the Bon Jovi founded Runaway Tours, has alerted fans they should expect refunds soon.
“When we set out to create Runaway Tours our intention was to bring together a community of passionate fans and connect them with their favorite artist to create life long memories. Over the past 12 years and numerous events that have spanned the globe we have been able to do just that and more. We strive to always under promise and over deliver. That was the plan for Miami as well. Certainly we were thrilled to see everyone come together with friends. The costumes were amazing and the Adams Family photo op was epic. But that wasn’t the only reason you decided to join us. We know the concert meant a lot to you all,” they share on social media.
The statement continues, “In an abundance of caution and for the safety of everyone involved we took the necessary steps in testing for COVID-19. Prior to the performance we tested again and discovered that Jon had tested positive for COVID-19. We are all shocked, but we knew the right thing to do was to cancel the performance.
“Because we were not able to deliver as promised and because of the continued support and friendship you all show to us, we have decided that we are going to refund everyone their full purchase price of the package you purchased through Runaway Tours. This process may take up to two weeks to reflect on your account. We look forward to future trips and hope you will join us again somewhere down the road.”
A rep confirmed that JBJ is fully vaccinated and was “feeling fine” at the time. However, he left the event at the Lowes South Beach hotel and stayed in bed for the remainder of the night.
Yesterday (Thurs, Nov 4th), JBJ shared a video on social media stating he was feeling better, although didn’t detail any symptoms he had experienced.
“Really, this virus is no joke. Thank you for your kind words, I’m feeling much better and will be back in action soon.”
