Non-televised award winners announced for 2021 edition

Ahead of tonight’s (Nov 20th) 2021 American Music Awards (AMAs), the world’s largest fan-voted awards show, MRC Live & Alternative and ABC has announced the night’s first group of winners during a special TikTok livestream hosted by Billboard’s Tetris Kelly and The Hollywood Reporter’s Tiffany Taylor, featuring award-winning singer-songwriter JoJo as co-host.

Taylor Swift nabbed one win during the pre-show and is still eligible for tonight’s top honor, Artist of the Year. Swift, who is up against fellow global superstars Ariana Grande, BTS, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo and The Weeknd, broke her own record ahead of tonight’s show by winning a seventh time for Favorite Female Pop Artist and adding a win to top her previous record for most AMA wins of all time, now with 33. Gabby Barrett took home her first-ever American Music Awards wins, sweeping both of her categories. Other early winners announced include Ed Sheeran, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Doja Cat, Kanye West, Megan Thee Stallion, The Weekend and more.

Live from the AMAs red carpet, the group revealed winners in 21 categories. The remaining winners will be announced tonight when Cardi B hosts the AMAs live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST on ABC and streaming next day on Hulu.
