Ed Sheeran sets Nissan Stadium attendance record

Sheeran performed two shows in Music City

Global superstar Ed Sheeran has broken a new attendance record at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium. The pop star performed two sold out shows in Music City over the weekend, playing an acoustic, stripped-down show at the Ryman Auditorium on Friday and then to more than 73,000 across the river at Nissan Stadium on Saturday.

According to WKRN-TV, Sheeran’s staging was placed on the 50-yard line and saw Sheeran perform his hits to the largest crowed ever at the home of the Tennessee Titans.

While in town, Sheeran also surprised patrons at the karaoke bar, Santa’s Pub, where he performed the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” and his own “Thinking Out Loud” in between serving drinks behind the bar.

Sheeran is currently in the midst of his Mathematics Tour supporting his – (Subtract) album, and recently broke an attendance record at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium with more than 89,000 attending in June, marking the English pop star’s biggest show ever in America.

Sheeran kicked off the trek earlier this year with stadium dates throughout the UK, Europe and Ireland before returning to Australia and New Zealand in February/March 2023. The North American leg kicked off in April with 14 stops coinciding the Subtract Tour, a run of intimate shows in theaters and auditoriums. The Mathematics Tour runs through September.

Next month, the multiple-Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter will perform an exclusive concert for SiriusXM subscribers in the Hamptons. SiriusXM is taking one of the biggest artists in the world and putting him in one of the smallest performance spaces on the tip of Long Island to create an unbelievably intimate and unique experience for fans.

The intimate show will air on SiriusXM Hits 1 (ch. 2) on Friday, September 1st at 9 pm ET and will be available on the SXM App. The concert will also air across multiple SiriusXM music channels including The Pulse (ch. 5) The 10s Spot (ch. 11), with select songs on TikTok Radio (ch. 4). The concert promises to marry the charm of the Hamptons, a legendary venue and iconic musician as only SiriusXM can with tickets only available to subscribers to win.
