Band is reuniting with vocalist Brian Johnson

AC/DC is rumored to be announcing a 2019/2020 world tour with vocalist Brian Johnson next week. Tokepa, KS radio station V100 says a reliable source close to the “AC/DC camp” confirms the announcement is coming Wednesday, July 17th.

“Our sources are telling us that the band is set to announce a 2019-2020 World Tour next week on Wednesday. Obviously, we’re talking about the music biz here, things could change. But, right now that’s what we’ve been told,” the station shares.

The station says its source also confirms Johnson is back “working with the band.”

“Brian has been working special in-ears made for his performances so that he can continue to perform without causing any more damage to his hearing than he already has,” they write.

Johnson was replaced by Guns N Roses vocalist Axl Rose during the band’s Rock Or Bust Tour due to hearing issues in mid-2016.

Earlier this year, Johnson was spotted with bassist Cliff Williams at a Vancouver studio where it’s believed the band is recording. Johnson, drummer Phil Rudd, guitarists Angus and Stevie Young were photographed outside Vancouver’s Warehouse Studios earlier this year. Online reports have suggested that Angus Young will dedicate the new project to his late brother and founding rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, who passed away in late 2017 at the age of 64 due to a “dilapidating illness.”

More details as they become available.
