New project due this fall

After thousands upon thousands of gigs and easily a million miles traveled, iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Alice Cooper revs up as loudly as ever on his new solo album Road, due August 25th via earMUSIC. The set will be available on CD, 2 LP and digital formats.

Produced by longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin, the project was written, composed and recorded with his current touring band of guitarist Ryan Roxie, bassist Chuck Garric, guitarist Tommy Henrikson, drummer Glen Sobel, and guitarist Nita Strauss. Bringing everything full circle, it channels the spirit of old school Cooper with instantly recognizable grit and plenty of gusto. It’s everything you’d hope for from him and more.

“In the past, the show got reviewed before the music did,” Cooper laughs. “We had hit No. 1 albums, but it was always about what we did on stage. For Road, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs. I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. That’s what we did for this record. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”

The album also features appearances by Rage Against the Machine frontman Tom Morello on the album’s lead single “White Line Frankenstein,” MC5’s Wayne Kramer, Buckcherry’s Keith Nelson and guitarist Kane Roberts, the latter who contributes to the raucous and rip-roaring “Dead Don’t Dance.”

“‘White Line Frankenstein’ is a monster that we created. It’s a truck driver who’s been out there a long time. He’s the king of the road. He doesn’t live in a house. He lives in that truck,” Cooper shares. “In the song, this surreal tough guy is driving on white lines for his whole life. So, ‘White Line Frankenstein’ would be his CB handle. It’s monstrous and definitely a stage song.”

Cooper’s full 2022 Hellfest performance completes the project on either DVD or Blu-ray.

A deluxe box set featuring a 2 LP 180-gram gatefold black vinyl, CD and Blu-ray with metal keychain, exclusive embroidered trucker cap, car air freshner and two bumper stickers has sold out, along with various special edition colored vinyl versions.

Additionally, Cooper has announced an extension of his 2023 North American tour with shows added through October. Shows between October 3-23 will be An Evening With Alice Cooper before closing the month out with three co-headlining Halloween Hootenanny shows with Rob Zombie in Highland, CA; Reno, NV and Las Vegas.
