Band preps to return to the stage this weekend

Guns N Roses frontman Axl Rose has shared a health update after the band was forced to postpone its Glasgow show this week. The group shared on July 4th that “due to illness and medical advice” they were postponing the show. They didn’t unveil who was suffering from what illness, but Rose has shared that he’s been following doctor’s orders in order to return to the stage in Munich tomorrow (Fri, July 8th).

“I’d like to thank everyone 4 their well wishes!” Rose writes on Twitter. “It’s greatly appreciated! We apologize 4 the inconvenience of postponing Glasgow. I’ve been following Dr’s orders, getting rest, working w/a vocal coach n’ sorting out r sound issues. Seems good so far. Thanks again 4 everyone’s concern! At the end of the day it’s about giving u the fans the best of rselves n’ the best time we can give u n’ that’s all I, the band n’ crew r focused on. See u in Munich!!”

The group’s most recent show was in The UK over the weekend where it welcomed Carrie Underwood to perform two songs on stage. Underwood, who’s been a lifelong GNR fan, performed “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City” on July 1st and 2nd.

The band is set to play Munich on Friday, July 8th as its European tour continues. The trek wraps July 15th before embarking onto a long-delayed South American leg in September.

They’ll follow the South American run with an also long-delayed Mexican run of four dates before heading Down Under for a stadium trek in Australia and New Zealand this November and December.

They’re set to include two stops in Japan this November at Saitama Super Arena on Saturday, November 5th and Sunday, November 6th.

Last year, the band released two new tracks since reuniting with three original members in 2016. Both are outtakes from the 2008 Chinese Democracy album. “Absurd” and “Hard Skool” were released as 7-inch vinyl, cassette and CD single with two live tracks in February 2022.
