The song is the latest from the new album

Seven-time Grammy nominees Black Pumas have shared their latest music video for “Hello.” The song is one of the many highlights on their widely acclaimed new album, Chronicles of a Diamond, out now on ATO Records.

On “Hello,” singer/songwriter/producer Eric Burton and guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada create an otherworldly sound, casting a powerful spell with the track’s sublime synth tones and celestial harmonies (courtesy of Black Pumas background vocalists Lauren Cervantes and Angela Miller). Written by Burton, Quesada put additional touches on the track explaining, “Eric brought in that odd synth loop, and I loved the idea of building a song around something so out of the ordinary for us,” he says. “It was probably the most challenging song for me to finish, but mostly because I was completely obsessed with it and needed to get it right.”

For the video, Eric Burton and director Luke Lidell collaborated on the concept Burton describes as, “across the celestial expanse, two souls find themselves drawn together by an unstoppable force, destined to entwine.” Featuring stop animation and a space-theme aura, the visuals perfectly frame the ethereal vibe of the song.

It’s a busy time for Black Pumas. The band is up for yet another Grammy for Best Rock Performance for “More Than A Love Song” from the new album. The track has amassed more than 3.5 million streams and landed at No. 1 on AAA radio, Billboard’s Adult Alternative chart, and Americana radio. They’ll be performing on Late Night With Seth Meyers on January 17th and The Kelly Clarkson Show on January 18th. In the fall they dazzled audiences with their stellar performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and NBC News Today where they performed “More Than A Love Song” along with “Mrs Postman.”

The band will bring its exhilarating live show to more major cities in the coming weeks including Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and more before heading to Europe in March. They’ll return to the US for a two-night stint at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium in April and Brandi Carlile’s Mothership Weekend festival in May, with more dates throughout the summer.

Black Pumas has made a major cultural impact, selling one million albums worldwide. “Colors,” from their 2019 debut, is a gold-certified anthem that was nominated for Record of the Year with over 450 million streams. Their meteoric rise saw them playing thrilling sold-out tours across North and South America and Europe, as well as performances at the Grammy Awards and President Biden’s inauguration. They are also winners of the 2020 Emerging Act of the Year from the Americana Music Association. Quesada recently won a Latin Grammy for Best Rock Song for his collaboration with Diamanté Eléctrico.
