Double album will be released in June

Bob Dylan has announced Rough and Rowdy Ways for June 19th via Columbia Records. The album is Dylan’s first project of all new material in eight years. It will be on 2 CD, 2 LP gatefold vinyl and digitally.

The album announcement follows the release of “Murder Most Foul,” a 17 minute epic about the JFK assassination. The song went on to become Dylan’s first ever No. 1 on any Billboard charts. He released “I Contain Multitudes” following the track. Both appear on the new album.

Dylan shared the song “False Prophet” along with the album announcement. No track listing has been listed as of press time, but the Amazon listing shows “Murder Most Foul” will be on a disc by itself, completing the double album.

In March, Dylan canceled Japanese tour dates due to COVID-19.

“Given the situation of the widespread Coronavirus, our Prime Minister has requested that we cancel or postpone all forthcoming concerts or events in late March and beyond,” a statement reads. “We are so sorry to cancel the shows, but in the interest of Public Health and Safety, we are left with no alternative. Therefore we have regrettably decided to cancel the upcoming Bob Dylan concerts here in Japan scheduled April 1 – April 24. We will look to rebook the shows in the future.”
