The clip is the band’s third to hit over one billion views

Bon Jovi’s “Always” video joins the YouTube Billions Club. The song, released on 1994’s best of compilation, Cross Road, captures the feat 14 years after its release on the platform in June 2009.

The song was originally written for the 1993 film Romeo is Bleeding, but the band decided against letting producers use it after disliking the film. The track was shelved but then re-recorded for the band’s first greatest hits album a year later.

The fan-favorite song was a top-five international hit upon its release, landing at No. 2 on the US Billboard charts and at No. 1 in Canada.

”Always” is Bon Jovi’s third video to receive the accolade, following “It’s My Life” in July 2021 and “Livin’ on a Prayer” in February 2023.

The band is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with a forthcoming new album. More details and the first single, “Legendary,” are expected to be released next week. Bon Jovi debuted the new song at last month’s 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year where Jon was honored by the Recording Academy for his philanthropic efforts during a star-studded concert.

This spring, fans can enter the band’s world with the four-part docu-series, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, the first-ever to focus on the band’s history with full cooperation from all past and present members of Bon Jovi. Hulu has acquired the rights to the docu-series, produced by ROS, the banner of filmmaker Gotham Chopra. The all-access series chronicling four decades of the iconic rock band Bon Jovi premieres Friday, April 26th on Hulu in the US and coming soon to Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other territories. Following one of the world’s most iconic bands and its frontman, Jon Bon Jovi, the documentary gives us a view of the music and the man.

Last month, the band released three new 40th anniversary editions of its self-titled album via Island/UMR. The releases officially kick off the Bon Jovi 40 campaign and are accompanied by various 1984-era merchandise and a 40th anniversary celebration trailer.

Jon Bon Jovi and his band are working on their latest venture, the spring 2024 opening of JBJ’s Nashville located along Nashville’s Lower Broadway honky-tonk bar district. Positioned to stand out amid traditional bars on the strip, JBJ’s will tower as the tallest and second largest bar by square footage, boasting 37,000 square feet dedicated to a rock ‘n’ roll revolution along with carrying forward the roots of country music from Nashville’s storied history.
