Brice was presented with plaque following Ryman Auditorium show

Carly Pearce and Lee Brice have earned double platinum status for their duet, “I Hope You’re Happy Now.” The hit song went to No. 1 on the country charts and was awarded “Musical Event of the Year” and “Single of the Year” at the 56th ACM Awards, and also grabbed the award for “Musical Event of the Year” at the 2020 Country Music Awards.

“I knew when I heard the song for the first time that this was something special and I’m honored that Carly asked me to be a part of it,” Brice says last July when the song was awarded platinum status. “Thank you to all the fans for loving this song as much as Carly and I did recording it and making this a platinum hit.”

“Having songs that meant something to people was always my dream,” Pearce expressed at the time. “To see these songs reach such big milestones and see that my music is making an impact on people’s lives is more than I could’ve ever hoped for. I will never take any of this for granted and am so thankful.”

Brice was awarded a double platinum plaque following a benefit show to help raise money for the John Hiatt Adolescent and Young Adult Treatment Fund at Cumberland Heights at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium last night (Tues, Aug 3rd). Lee was joined on-stage by special guest, Walker Montgomery. This latest platinum single award takes Brice to 20 million RIAA song awards.

Across town, Pearce was inducted as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry following the June invitation by country legend Dolly Parton. Ahead of her induction on the live show, Pearce performed the duet solo before Opry member Trisha Yearwood joined her for a duet edition of her 1997 hit “How Do I Live.” Opry member Jeanie Seely was also on hand for Pearce’s big moment.
