Illness has forced additional show delays
The Chicks continue to be plagued by an unknown illness, forcing them to postpone one show and cancel another this week. The trio were scheduled to perform in Columbia, Maryland tomorrow (Wed, Aug 2nd), but have postponed it until September 20th while their concert the next day in Bethel, New York has been canceled altogether.
“Due to an ongoing illness, we regret that we must reschedule our show at Merriweather Post Pavilion and cancel our show at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts,” they share on social media.
All original tickets for the Columbia, Maryland show will be honored at the rescheduled date. Ticket buyers for the canceled Bethel, New York show will be refunded to the original purchase method automatically.
Last week, the group postponed three shows due to the illness. Their show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Thursday (July 27t) was postponed hours before it was set to begin followed by Saturday’s concert in Knoxville, TN and Sunday’s show in Greensboro, NC, the next day.
The Chicks World Tour 2023 kicked off last month in Europe before moving Stateside on July 21st. The 37-date tour is produced by Live Nation and now runs through September 23rd in Nashville. The group will head Down Under for a series of shows in October. They’ll perform 11 nights across Australia and New Zealand on the antipodean leg of their World Tour, including sold out Melbourne, Brisbane and Christchurch shows. Elle King will support all dates.
The band is supporting their fifth studio album, Gaslighter which was released in July 2020 via Columbia Records. The 12-track record was co-produced by award-winning singer-songwriter, producer, and close friend of the band Jack Antonoff and marked a nearly 14 year gap between records.
