New version available now

Cole Swindell has enlisted Jo Dee Messina for a remix of his multi-week No. 1 hit, “She Had Me At Heads Carolina.” The new version combines Swindell’s track with Messina’s 1996 Top 10 debut single, “Heads Carolina, Tails California.”

“Did y’all really think we were gonna leave you hanging without releasing a version of this song w/ @jodeemessina?!? Such a full circle moment for this here 90’s Country fan… the ‘She Had Me At Heads Carolina’ Remix is OUT NOW!” Swindell shares on social media.

Swindell co-wrote the “She Had Me At Heads Carolina” — which is a play on Messina’s hit — with Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure and Thomas Rhett. Mark D. Sanders and Tim Nichols, who wrote Messina’s hit, are also credited.

Fans have been requesting the duet since Swindell’s version was released and became a massive hit. The video, which was shot in Nashville’s Printer’s Alley, has surpassed 6.5 million views on YouTube and features cameos by Messina and Nichols.

Last week, Swindell’s fastest-rising single to date topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart for the fourth consecutive week, making him the only artist in 2022 to have a four-week consecutive No. 1 single.

Swindell has also released an acoustic version in honor of the song’s success.
