Montgomery enlists Bryan Martin for new single

Country music veteran Eddie Montgomery returns with a new single, “Cost of Being Me,” featuring fast-rising country singer-songwriter and labelmate Bryan Martin. The single is now available for download and stream on all major streaming platforms via Average Joe’s Entertainment.

The collaboration of a seasoned country music icon like Eddie Montgomery and an upcoming star like Bryan Martin marks a fascinating collision of experience and fresh talent within the genre. “Cost of Being Me” delves into the rugged and sometimes tumultuous journey of life through lyrics that paint a life permeated with reckless spending, impulsive decisions, and the pursuit of fleeting pleasures. Written by Bobby Pinson (“All I Want to Do,” “It Happens,” “Made in America”), Jami Grooms, Mark McGuinn, Rusty Tabor, and produced by Nick Gibbens, the single reflects common themes of self-discovery, loss, and resilience, resonating with those who have faced the highs and lows of life.

By tragic circumstance a solo artist, Eddie always feels the presence of Troy Gentry, his honky-tonking partner from back to the days they played for beer or a chunk of flesh at a pig roast near their eastern Kentucky roots. The man who was always accompanied by Eddie on stage and immersed in the soul of his first solo album is his long-time partner, Troy Gentry, who died September 8, 2017, in a helicopter crash that could have put a tragic end to Montgomery Gentry sound. Since then, Eddie has dedicated his music career to honoring his fallen bandmate and keeping the beloved Montgomery Gentry sound alive. His debut solo album Ain’t No Closing Me Down was released in late 2021 via Average Joe’s Entertainment with the deluxe edition now available exclusively at Walmart.
