Larry, Steve & Rudy — The Gatlin Brothers share their inspirational and autobiographical new single, “Fair Winds.” Written by Larry Gatlin and produced by Gordon Mote, “Fair Winds” showcases the extraordinary vocals of the Gatlin Brothers as they join in harmony to deliver a song whose message rings with gratitude and hope.

“A couple of years ago my accountant handed me a big wad of money and said, ‘Do not use your America Express card any more…pay cash and bring me a receipt.’ He knew that it was a ten-day trip and that fives and twenties are ‘road money’ so the big wad felt like a baseball in my front pocket,” recalls Larry. “Since I have no internal filter, I blurted out loud, ‘Larry Wayne, you’ve got more money in your pocket than your daddy ever had in the bank.’ I readily admit that sometimes I don’t pay attention to what I am saying but when I say something ‘songy sounding’ I always figure out a way to write it down, record it on my cell phone or commit it to memory. On the above-mentioned occasion, I walked into my man cave and wrote ‘Fair Winds’ in 15 minutes. I knew it was good. I didn’t know how good until brother Steve, brother Rudy, brother from another mother, Gordon Mote, and some great Nashville musicians got together in a studio and ‘put it down.’ We all believe that it is a special piece of music, and we are grateful to THE GREAT PHYSICIAN, GREAT MUSICIAN, THE AUTHOR, AND FINISHER of OUR FAITH who gave it to us and to you. KEEP THE FAITH.”

“Fair Winds” comes on the heels of “Amazin’ What Just The Right 3 Minutes Can Do,” the recent single by the legendary brothers. They are excited to release fresh new contemporary-styled country music to propel them on to the next phase of their long and storied musical journey.

The Gatlin Brothers are a Grammy Award-winning trio who have dazzled audiences for more than 65 years with a lifetime of noteworthy achievements in their storybook career, including a Grammy for Best Country Song (“Broken Lady”), three ACM awards for Single of the Year (“All The Gold In California”), Album of the Year (Straight Ahead) and Male Vocalist of the Year for Larry Gatlin. They have also garnered five nominations for CMA Vocal Group of the Year, Single, Album and Male Vocalist of the Year, along with Dove, AMA, and People’s Choice Awards. The Brothers have accumulated seven No. 1 singles, 32 Top 40 records, 22 studio albums, and five BMI Million-Air Awards.

Larry ranks fourth in the country songwriting industry as a solo writer with the most self-penned top 40 Billboard hits, according to noted music historian and author, John Alexander. Songs from Larry’s massive song catalog have been recorded by a Who’s Who of entertainers, including Elvis Presley, Barbara Streisand, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Glen Campbell, Kris Kristofferson, Sir Tom Jones, Dottie West, Charlie Rich, Johnny Mathis, and dozens of others, securing his legacy as one of BMI’s top solo songwriters of all time.
