Horror comedy was released earlier this year

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will release the Foo Fighters’ horror comedy Studio 666 to Blu-ray and DVD on May 24th. Special features include a gag reel on both formats and digital copy with the Blu-ray.

The movie, which stars band members Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee, was directed by BJ McDonnell. It was released to theaters in February via Open Road Films with the band also executive producing.

In the film, the legendary rock band Foo Fighters move into an Encino mansion steeped in grisly rock and roll history to record their much anticipated tenth studio album. Once in the house, Grohl finds himself grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band.

Studio 666 also stars Whitney Cummings, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega, Leslie Grossman and Jeff Garlin. It was based upon a story by Grohl with a screenplay by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes.

The group released its 10th studio album, Medicine at Midnight, in February 2021 via Roswell/RCA. It canceled all remaining 2022 plans following the shocking death of drummer Taylor Hawkins while on tour in South America in late March 2022.
