Proud To Be An American: The Lee Greenwood Story premieres on July 1st

As Americans celebrate Independence Day, Lee Greenwood, America’s most recognized patriotic ambassador to be the focus of a new documentary Proud To Be An American: The Lee Greenwood Story premiering on FOX Nation July 1st. Highlighting his career, this documentary will include interviews with the entire Greenwood family as well as some of his closest friends and colleagues. Continuing the Independence Day weekend celebration, Greenwood will share his appreciation by making several appearances when he takes the stage in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho (July 1st), Jefferson, Iowa (July 2nd), Provo, Utah (July 3rd), and St Louis, Missouri (July 4th).

“Independence Day is a special day for all Americans,” says Greenwood. “It’s always an honor to perform ‘God Bless The U.S.A.’ anywhere that Americans will hear it. The song was written to unite all Americans and bring hope and courage during times of crisis. It is great to be back on the road and performing this year live.”

His stand-out hit “God Bless the U.S.A.” has been in the top five on the country singles charts three times (1991, 2001, and 2003), giving it the distinction of being the only song in any genre of music to achieve that feat. It reached the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart shortly after 9/11. Known for his stand-out patriotism and support of the US military, Greenwood has been honored with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s National Patriot’s Award and entertained troops on more than 30 USO Tours. Greenwood’s performance at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah is part of America’s Freedom Festival which includes a concert by Greenwood and Collin Raye, world-renowned action sports daredevils Nitro Circus, 500-voice Millennial Choir, The Stadium of Fire Dancers, and the biggest stadium fireworks show in America. Stadium of Fire to celebrate its 40th anniversary and America’s birthday with a music and action-packed spectacular.

Earlier this year, Greenwood partnered with Soldier Valley Spirits to develop and distribute the Lee Greenwood Signature Bourbon Whiskey. This special 90 proof bourbon whiskey is bottled in a canteen shaped bottle embossed with the number “6” and includes a hanging military-style dog tag showcasing the letters “LG.” The silver foil label contains a Greenwood replica signature.

In October, Greenwood will celebrate 40 years as a recording artist with an all-star tribute. ABC Supply Company Presents Lee Greenwood: An All Star Salute features special guest appearances by Riley Green, Michael W. Smith, Lee Brice, Dustin Lynch, Michael Ray, Jamey Johnson, Big & Rich, Alabama’s Randy Owen, Home Free, Sam Moore, Tracy Byrd, The Oak Ridge Boys, Crystal Gayle, Mark Wills, The Frontmen of Country and more to be announced. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 12th at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
