The monumental Garth Brooks Stadium Tour continues to break records
Garth Brooks entertained a record-breaking audience Saturday (June 8th) at Denver, CO’s Mile High Stadium with 84,500 fans, making it the “largest ticketed event in Broncos stadium history,” (Denver Post) breaking the previous record of 77,000 set by U2 in 2011. Breaking stadium records at each stop on The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour, Brooks has continued to show why he remains one of most powerful live draws in the world with Denver Post noting “Brooks is as famous for his concerts as he is for his songs, and it’s easy to see why.”
Since launching the tour, Brooks has broken attendance records in St. Louis, MO at The Dome at America’s Center, Glendale, AZ at State Farm Stadium, Gainesville, FL at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, two sold out nights at Minneapolis, MN’s U.S. Bank Stadium and Denver, CO at Mile High Stadium. Additional upcoming shows are already sold out in Eugene, OR at Autzen Stadium on June 29th with Regina, SK’s Mosaic Stadium show on July 10th with a second show on July 9th and Boise, ID’s Albertsons Stadium show on July 20th and second one July 19th as both cities sold out their first shows in under an hour, averaging just over 75,000 tickets for each one.
Brooks has broken a record at every stop on the Garth Brooks Stadium Tour. The county star will hit 10-12 cities per year for three years. The trek follows his three year North American arena run with wife Trisha Yearwood that smashed records previously held by himself, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. The tour played 79 cities, 390 concerts with over 100,000 tickets sold in over 20 cities. The tour sold over 6.3 million tickets, making it the biggest North American tour in history and the biggest American tour in the world.
Brooks is set to release his new single, “Dive Bar,” with Blake Shelton to country radio on Tuesday, June 18th. The pair will perform the song live for the first time at Brooks’ Boise, ID’s Albertsons Stadium show on July 19th. Brooks co-wrote the tune with Mitch Rossell and Bryan Kennedy. “Dive Bar” is taken from his forthcoming studio album Fun, in which a release date has yet to be announced, but is expected sometime later this year.
Brooks is also planning to film his first official music video in ten years for the track. “I think we have to [make a music video]!” he tells Nancy O’Dell. “I don’t know when the last time we did a country music video was, but you don’t want to pass this opportunity up. It’s going to be fun.”
