Simmons talks to us exclusively

Gene Simmons isn’t ruling out more KISS shows beyond the End of the Road final tour. We asked the KISS co-founder if it was possible he and the band would be open to performing a Las Vegas residency when the tour wraps, or if the band would be indeed calling it quits.

“I don’t know,” Simmons shares with us exclusively for a 25 minute video interview set to air next Friday (Aug 20th) on The Music Universe Podcast.

While the rocker left the idea of a post-final tour residency open-ended, he joked about “rumors” that the band would be returning to Vegas this winter. The news of the mid-tour sitdown has been all but confirmed by various outlets.

He also shares that there are safety practices in place to ensure the tour can relaunch successfully next week.

“First of all we’re all gonna keep our staff safe because, you know, there are different laws in different states — and you can’t dictate to the fans, but once you get backstage, every road member, road crew, security, truck drivers, everybody’s gonna get vaccinated and wear masks. And the rest of you have a choice because you live in, ‘Oh so free America.’ There’s a law that says you have to wear a seatbelt and there isn’t a law that you have to wear a mask to protect others in case you infect them? That’s crazy.”

Simmons also confirms the band will not be meeting with fans on the trek due to the virus.

“That’s for the fans as well as us,” Simmons announces. “If one fan infects anyone of us, the entire tour is canceled and the insurance company goes insane and everybody sues each other — just one asshole who didn’t care about you — who cared only about his freedoms. Even as a courtesy when you yawn, you cover your mouth, don’t you? And you’re not willing to wear a mask that might endanger somebody else?”

Simmons reveals that the Australian tour dates that were set for later this year have been moved to March 2022 due to only ten percent of the country’s population having being vaccinated.

In the interview, we also discuss Simmons’ new personal artwork collection that’s making its debut in Las Vegas in October as well as a new clothing line.
