New mini album claims No. 1 on iTunes in 52 countries

After amassing over 10 million global streams on the original, K-Pop sensation (G)I-DLE share “HWAA (English Ver.)” and “HWAA (Chinese Ver.).”

Amplifying the impact of the buzzing single, these new versions convey the pain of love by using blazing fire and beautiful flower as metaphors. With an addictive hook and lyrics with dramatic emotional changes, it stands out as the latest collaboration between the group’s leader Soyeon and composer Pop Time.

At the top of 2021, (G)I-DLE unveiled their new mini-album I Burn. Amplifying the members’ voices as creators and songwriters, the six-track project notably features writing by leader Soyeon on three songs, Minnie on two songs, and Yuqi on one song. Impressively, the new mini album claimed the No. 1 spot on iTunes in 52 countries. It captured No. 1 on the Apple Music Top K-Pop Albums Chart and No. 1 on the Top Pop Albums Chart in addition to ascending to #1 on both the iTunes Top K-Pop Albums Chart and Top Pop Albums Chart.

Meanwhile, “HWAA” soared to the Top 10 on the Apple Music Top K-Pop Songs Chart and No. 2 on the iTunes Top K-Pop Songs Chart. It has also generated over six million Spotify streams and received key placements on playlists, including the No. 1 position on K-Pop Daebak, K-Pop Rising, and A-List: K-Pop.

Last year, (G)I-DLE incited a frenzy worldwide with “DUMDi DUMDi,” which gathered 18.3 million Spotify streams and 74 million YouTube views on the music video. Not to mention, their “Oh My God” music video picked up a nomination in the category of Best K-POP at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards. Plus, they broke the internet with the 2020 (G)I-DLE Online Concert ‘I-Land: Who Am I.’ Their official U.S. debut mini-album I Trust claimed No. 1 on the iTunes Overall Album Charts in 61 markets with acclaim from MTV, Billboard, Just Jared, and more.
