Williams’ location will be on Lower Broad

Hank Williams Jr. is the latest country star planning to open a bar in Nashville. The Nashville Business Journal cites a permit was filed with the city to take over the location at 419 Broadway, previously occupied by Nashville Crossroads which closed last year. The bar will be named Hank Williams Jr. Boogie Bar and be nestled between Alan Jackson’s AJ’s Good Time Bar and the Ernest Tubb Record Shop in the tourist area of Lower Broadway.

Williams has teamed with property owner Brad Sanderson and Big Plan Holdings, the latter who will operate the venue. Construction plans include the addition of a fourth floor and rooftop deck, bringing the total square footage to 11,895.

There’s no word on when the “Family Tradition” singer will open the venue.

Williams is the latest in a long list of celebrities opening Nashville bars. Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Kid Rock, Jimmy Buffett, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan are among the stars who have establishments in the area. Garth Brooks and Eric Church are expected to open their multi-level units this year. Luke Combs has teamed with Opry Entertainment Group to reinvent the Wildhorse Saloon on 2nd Ave into a massive multi-level entertainment complex in downtown Nashville.

Big Plan Holdings has also been rumored to be in business with Jon Bon Jovi for an entertainment complex currently being constructed on an L-shaped vacant lot at 405 Broadway since November 2020.
