Carson died on Mar 26th

Memorial service and motorcade details have been announced for country singer Jeff Carson. Country music hitmaker and Academy of Country Music award-winner Carson died of a heart attack on Saturday, March 26th at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee at the age of 58.

The funeral is Saturday, April 2nd at 10 am at Brentwood Baptist Church at 7777 Concord Rd, Brentwood, TN 37027. A procession and police motorcade will follow to a graveside service at Williamson Memorial in Franklin at 11:30 am.

After a successful career in country music, including several chart-topping songs, Officer Jeff Carson joined the Franklin Police Department on May 27, 2008. During his tenure with the FPD, Carson earned six commendations, a Chief’s Award for Excellence, and was recently promoted to Police Officer-2.

Carson’s loss is widely felt, across several communities including country music, law enforcement, and the entire Franklin, Williamson County community, which he proudly served and protected for the last 14 years.

Citizens wishing to pay their respects along the route are encouraged to do so safely: Concord Rd to Franklin Rd, to Mack Hatcher, to Murfreesboro Rd, to the Public Square, to Main Street, to Columbia Ave, past Franklin Police Headquarters, to Williamson Memorial for the graveside service.

Friday’s (Apr 1st) 4-6 pm visitation at Williamson Memorial will be a private gathering for Carson’s family and their invited guests.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Franklin Police Department’s Law Enforcement Assistance Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides financial assistance to Franklin Police Officers during unexpected life events, and college scholarships to officers’ children.

Carson signed with Curb Records in 1995, after recording a slew of demos that went on to be hits from stars such as Tracy Byrd, Reba McEntire, Faith Hill and others. Carson charted a total of 14 singles on the Billboard charts before he returned to become a police officer in 2009.

Carson returned to music in 2019 signing a singles deal with MC1 Nashville to recut and release a previously recorded song “God Save The World,” which charted on the Music Row Top 40 chart. Most recently Carson signed with Encore Music Group and has been in the studio with Buddy Hyatt recording a specialty album to be released later this year that included duets with Michael Ray, Darryl Worley, Mark Wills, and Craig Morgan.

Carson was a guest on The Music Universe Podcast in November 2021 where he discussed his return to music as well as being a police officer.
