The new version is a remix of the retro funk track

Global popstar Jung Kook of BTS has united with R&B legend Usher to unveil a collaborative performance video for the Usher remix of “Standing Next To You.” The version is a remix of the retro funk track featured in Jung Kook’s critically acclaimed first solo album Golden.

Following the release of the remix earlier this month, the two musical icons showcased a standout collaborative dance performance that elevates the remix to new heights. Set against a raw industrial backdrop with natural light gently emphasized with the use of vintage camera lenses, the artists boast their impeccable all-black styling, seamlessly blending their aesthetics into a cohesive masterpiece. As the track reaches its climax, the radiance emerging from the background slowly intensifies to create a visual spectacle that mirrors the explosive energy of the tune.

The performance video promptly follows their previously released dance challenge clip to Usher’s 2004 hit single “Yeah!” featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris. The continued collaboration that features the two artists’ respective chart-topping hits highlights Jung Kook’s natural flair to carry on the legacy of male solo dance artists.

Last month, the K-pop superstar released an EP of “Standing Next to You” remixes featuring seven versions of the hit track. He also released a remix of “3D” with Justin Timberlake.

Golden takes motifs from the golden moments of Jung Kook as a solo artist. The album consists of a total of 11 tracks including the main track “Standing Next to You,” solo single “Seven” featuring Latto in both clean and explicit versions, and “3D” featuring Jack Harlow as well as new tracks “Closer to You” featuring Major Lazer, “Yes or No,” “Please Don’t Change” featuring DJ Snake, “Hate You,” “Somebody,” “Too Sad to Dance,” and “Shot Glass of Tears.”
