Singer has been married nearly five years
Kelsea Ballerini has revealed she’s going through a divorce from husband and country singer Morgan Evans after nearly five years of marriage. The country superstar shared the news via her Instagram story on Monday (Aug 29th).
“Friends, I’ve always tried my best to share my life with you in a real and vulnerable way, while also protecting layers of my personal life as they unfold. This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce,” she writes.
She continues, “This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end. It’s hard to find the words here… but I feel extremely grateful for the years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons. With very active schedules coming up, please be mindful that we are both fragile, actively healing, and showing up the best we can.”
The “Hole in a Bottle” singer married Evans in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in December 2017. They had met in March 2016 when the pair hosted the Country Music Channel Awards in Evans’ native Australia. They got engaged on Christmas Day that year.
Ballerini will release her fifth studio album, Subject to Change, on September 23rd. The album’s 15 song project includes her latest single, “Heartfirst.” She will embark on 10 date The Heartfirst Tour this fall, kicking off September 24th in New York City and wrapping October 14th in Mashantucket, CT.
