The two songs will be available on September 15th

Maren Morris will be dropping two songs on Friday, September 15th — “The Tree” and “Get The Hell Out of Here.” Collectively entitled The Bridge, Morris says the songs deserve to stand on their own ahead of her forthcoming album.

“As I’ve been working on my record nonstop this year, I realized these two songs deserved a moment on their own – a story in their own right, written a day apart from each other – a tender duo and bridge to my next album,” she writes. “I welcome, celebrate and grieve the challenges that have happened these last few years and these two songs say it better than I ever could in a caption or interview. the album is coming but in the meantime, let’s cross the bridge together.”

Morris has been teasing the songs by captioning social media photos with song lyrics. “The more I hang around here, the less I give a damn,” she captioned over the weekend, referencing “Get the Hell Out of Here,” a song she premiered during a London show earlier this summer.

Last week, she shared a snippet of another unreleased and untitled song with the caption, “I’m done filling a cup with a hole in the bottom.”

It’s unclear when Morris will release the follow-up to last year’s Humble Quest. Upon its release in March 2022, Humble Quest debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. The album also broke an Amazon Music record for the most first-day and first-week streams globally for an album released by a female country artist.

In June, the country star teamed with Marcus Mumford for a stunning version of β€œLook At Us Now (Honeycomb).” First released in March as an Amazon Original, the duet marks a reimagined version of the hit single from Daisy Jones & The Six, subjects of the eponymous limited series which debuted this spring on Prime Video and featured on their debut album Aurora.
