The pop star will perform on the 2023 Billboard Music Awards

Queen of Christmas and music icon Mariah Carey will take the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) stage for a festive Aspen-inspired and surprise-filled performance of “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” which will mark the first time in history the iconic holiday hit single has ever been performed on an awards show. Carey will be honored with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award for the chart-topping holiday classic. She is currently on her Merry Christmas One and All! tour and will wrap on December 17th at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Creative directed by the legendary Debbie Allen, Carey’s performance is part of a star-filled lineup of previously announced BBMA performers including David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, Karol G, NewJeans, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids, and Morgan Wallen.

Carey holds the record for the artist with the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 91, artist with the most weeks at No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart with 91, and female songwriter with the most Hot 100 No. 1 hits with 18. Carey is also the only artist to send her first five singles to No. 1 on the Hot 100.

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” has climbed to No. 1 on the Hot 100 every year since 2019, and as of November 2023, has spent 12 total weeks at No. 1. It’s only the second holiday song to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100, after “The Chipmunk Song” in 1958. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” became Carey’s 19th Hot 100 No. 1 in 2019, extending her record for the most No. 1s of any solo artist.

Carey has achieved 18 Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, including six No. 1 albums.
