Song appears on forthcoming Barn album

Neil Young & Crazy Horse have released “Heading West,” which impacts radio on November 8th. The track is the first from Barn, due December 10th via Reprise Records.

The album was recorded this summer over a handful of days, in a remote 19th century log barn. The ten new songs encompass all that Neil Young with Crazy Horse are known for, beautiful romantic acoustic ballads, powerhouse electric rockers and insightful rollicking tunes that stick with you. The last song appeared on the last morning and was recorded just an hour later during a pounding hail storm and during the full moon.

Niko Bolas was parked adjacent to the barn, in an exquisite analog mobile recording truck, Le Mobile ready to capture and mix the album on the spot. Produced by The Volume Dealers – Neil Young and Niko Bolas, the album will be released on vinyl, CD, cassette, and digitally, including hi-res audio on Neil Young Archives (NYA). There will also be a deluxe edition that will include the LP, CD, and Blu-ray film.

The film of the same title captures this legendary band in their element – in the wild, their easy humor, their brotherhood, their humanity, and of course, the music, live, recorded in their unique spontaneous way. A Blu-ray of the film directed by Daryl Hannah, will also be available as a stand-alone release.
