The three-track single is available now

Vcha, a first-of-its-kind global pop girl group from K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, released their pre-debut single, “SeVit (New Light)” via JYP Entertainment/Republic Records. Vcha – which is based on the Korean word for “shine the light” – is the first global girl group trained through the K-pop system and is comprised of six members — Camila, Lexi, Kendall, Savanna, KG, and Kaylee.

The three-track single includes lead single “Y.O.Universe,” an up-tempo pop song that embraces diversity and how our differences make us special. K-pop hitmaker and JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park wrote and composed the single to showcase the group’s story and their core belief that “we are all special because we are all different.”

“SeVit (New Light)” also features “Go Getter,” a youthful, passionate punk-rock anthem and “Know Me Like That,” a defiant clap-back at prejudice and stereotypes. J.Y. Park also contributed to writing and composing these tracks, which highlight all six members’ vocal styles and capture the youth and passion of being teenagers.

Vcha was formed through the competition series A2K and revealed during the show’s two-part finale on September 20th and 21st. The series – helmed by JYP Entertainment, Republic Records, and Federal Films – had contestants showcase their dancing, singing, star quality, and character through auditions, a Los Angeles boot camp, and training at JYP Entertainment in Seoul, Korea, before the final group was selected.
