Group will headline May 1st

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been added to the 2022 New Orleans Jazz Fest music lineup. Their appearance is set for Sunday, May 1st and will be their first at the event since 2016, which was one of the most talked-about performances in Jazz Fest history. They are replacing the Foo Fighters who canceled the remainder of their tour following the untimely death of drummer Taylor Hawks last month.

The Chili Peppers have reunited with guitarist John Frusciante and just released their 12th studio album, Unlimited Love, via Warner Records. Last week, they were honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and launched an exclusive SiriusXM music channel, Whole Lotta Red Hot. This summer, the band will embark on a 32-city global stadium tour.

The 2022 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell is scheduled for April 29 – May 8. The Who, Stevie Nicks, Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band, Luke Combs, Lionel Richie, The Black Crowes, Willie Nelson, Erykah Badu, The Avett Brothers, Norah Jones, and dozens more will perform during the two weekend event.
