Track is first taste of next album
Following several teases on his social media, Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery begins the next chapter in his career with the release of his latest single โCab in a Solo.โ The country crooner, who turns 30 this fall, has spent almost half his life making country music while continuing to push himself and grow creatively as well as personally.
Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson and produced by Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, โCab in a Soloโ offers the first taste of new music from McCreery since the release of his 2021 album Same Truck.
โI brought several of my writer buddies to the mountains of North Carolina for a few days to write songs, and thatโs where โCab in a Soloโ was born,โ McCreery shares. โThis song is pure country. Iโm excited to share it with everyone.โ
With a hint of neo traditional country and dash of 90โs country nostalgia, the heartbreak track finds the happily married father in unfamiliar territory โ lamenting a failed relationship.
The new single follows the recent success of โIt Matters to Herโ the fastest climbing single of McCreeryโs career. The singer/songwriter has earned five consecutive No. 1 hits in the last few years including RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 โDamn Straitโ and RIAA Gold-certified No. 1 โYou Time,โ all found on Same Truck: The Deluxe Album.
Earlier this summer, McCreery joined the Brooks & Dunn Reboot Tour 2023. He is currently out on the road for his own headlining tour with 25+ dates through the fall.
McCreery is among six inductees in the 2023 class scheduled to be enshrined in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame during the annual induction ceremony this fall. The induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 19th at the Mooresville Performing Arts Center in Mooresville, North Carolina.
McCreery returns to the Grand Ole Opry on September 14th to perform as part of Opry Country Classics. Heโll be back on the Opry stage on December 3rd as part of Opry Country Christmas.
