Event will be held over three weekends

Organizers of Summerfest have announced 2022 dates for three weekends in June and July. The annual event will take place June 23-25, June 30-July 1, and July 7-9, Thursday through Saturday, from noon until midnight each day. More details on the lineup will be forthcoming in the months ahead.

Summerfest in Milwaukee has successfully hosted over 1,000 different performances, all spanning across three weekends this month (September 2-4, 9-11, and 16-18, 2021). The final weekend of Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance kicked off on September 15th with the Dave Matthews Band concert and the music will continue through Saturday, September 18th. The blockbuster lineup this weekend includes Megan Thee Stallion and Miley Cyrus with opener Wiz Khalifa, and Guns N’ Roses closing out the festival. This year’s headliners also included Chris Stapleton, Jonas Brothers, Luke Bryan, Chance the Rapper, Wilco, Diplo, Fitz and The Tantrums, Bleachers, Black Pumas, Run the Jewels, Rise Against, Goo Goo Dolls, among others.

Located on 75 acres of permanent grounds in downtown Milwaukee adjacent to Lake Michigan, there is ample room for fans who will be in attendance. Bringing back festivity fun while still adhering to COVID-19 safety guidelines, Summerfest followed vaccination or testing mandates for all three weekends.

“As we approached a September Summerfest, we knew it would be an experiment. That said, it was the only viable option to accommodate artists and fans within this fluid environment,” states Don Smiley, President and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. “Our team pulled it off and provided an economic boost to the local economy and gave patrons live music on the lakefront. We want to thank all our attendees, vendors, and sponsors for their support – we can’t wait to see them again next year.”

Summerfest has evolved into what is now recognized as “The World’s Largest Music Festival” and Milwaukee’s cornerstone summer celebration, hosting the music industry’s biggest acts, emerging talent, and local favorites along with approximately 750,000 fans, for an unforgettable live music experience. Summerfest features over one thousand performances on 11 stages, along with food, beverages, and activities, all in a world-class festival setting.
