Album drops July 29th

Beyoncé Knowles has shared the track listing for her seventh studio album, Act 1: Renaissance, due July 29th via her own Parkwood Entertainment, in partnership with Columbia Records. The superstar shared the track listing on her socials and website while the Beyonce fan site, BeyLegion, shared the list of composers for the 16 project. They include Jay-Z, Drake, Skrillex, Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams, and others. It’s unclear if the music heavyweights will make any vocal appearances or not.

The superstar has unveiled four beyonce.com exclusive box sets which appear to have sold out. Each limited edition collectible Renaissance box will include the album on CD and one of four Beyonce poses printed on a unisex t-shirt with front and back graphics.

The CD will be available in a four panel softpak with 28 page photo booklet and collectible mini poster.

A new listing for a limited edition 2 LP “one time pressing” vinyl with alternate cover has been added to Beyonce’s website. The discs will be housed in a gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves and pressed on 180-gram vinyl. Artwork is slated to be released at a later date but shipping is set for July 29th.

The album’s first single, “Break My Soul” was released last month and saw the rap superstar tie Michael Jackson’s and Paul McCartney’s Billboard records. All three now share accolades for having 20 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as a solo artist and 10 as a member of a group. Beyonce has 10 with Destiny’s Child, the group the launched her career.

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” she shares. “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”

This will be the first album since 2016’s Lemonade. Her last taste of new music was released in 2019 with the self-curated The Lion King: The Gift album, a musical ode to the classic story of Disney’s The Lion King feature film. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film includes the new original song, “Spirit,” performed by Beyoncé. The song was written specifically for the film by IIya Salmanzadeh, Timothy McKenzie and Beyoncé and is produced by Beyoncé and IIya and Labrinth.
