First new music from boy band in eight years
Pop super-group Big Time Rush is officially back with the release of their new single “Call It Like I See It,” its first new music in eight years. The feel-good track pairs the band’s signature harmonies with an infectious pop beat that makes for a surefire hit. The single marks a triumphant return from all four original band members, Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega, as the first new music to be released from the group in eight years.
“We couldn’t be more excited to share our first single ‘Call It Like I See It,'” the band shares. “After months of hard work recording and rehearsing, we are thrilled to finally kick off this brand-new chapter for us as a band.”
Tonight (Mon, Dec 13th), Big Time Rush will take the stage at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball show in Philadelphia for the performance debut of “Call It Like I See It.” The single instantly received hundreds of thousands of pre-saves and a rehearsal video of the band went viral on TikTok, receiving almost 10 million views since posting. Also this month, the band has two sold out tour dates, first stopping at the Chicago Theater in Illinois on December 15th, followed by Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on December 18th. Announced earlier this year, these two special live shows sold out in a matter of minutes, blowing expectations out of the water and showcasing the power of the band’s devoted fandom.
Big Time Rush became an overnight sensation in 2009 from the launch of the Nickelodeon television series Big Time Rush. The show was a huge success and catapulted the group into real-life stardom, as they went on to release three studio albums and performed across the globe, including five tours from 2011 to 2014. The show eventually came to an end in 2013 and the group went their separate ways. In June 2020, the band held a surprise virtual reunion to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their smash hit “Worldwide,” resulting in mass hysteria amongst their fans and in the media. In March 2021, all four seasons of Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush were added to Netflix and the band went viral once again, increasing fan demand for an official reunion. Soon after, the band announced they would come together for two special live shows in New York and Chicago. Now, with the release of “Call It Like I See It,” fans can expect to see a lot more of the evolved power group, with new music and performances to come in 2022.
