The song is the band’s second to capture a billion-plus streams on the platform

Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. The track was the band’s first No. 1 hit when it topped the US Billboard Hot 100 in November 1986. The song was the first single from the band’s 1986 album, Slippery When Wet, marking the first of many consecutive blockbuster singles and albums.

“Bad Name” was penned by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, and Desmond Child. The song is the band’s second Spotify Billions Club track after “Livin’ on a Prayer” scored the feat in January 2023.

The band’s music is also popular on YouTube, having three videos that have joined the YouTube Billions Club. “It’s My Life” was the first in July 2021 followed by “Livin on a Prayer” in February 2023, and “Always” in March 2024.

On Friday, June 7th, the group will release its 16th studio album, Forever, via Island Records. The album features the blockbuster single “Legendary” along with “Living Proof.” Upon its release in March, “Legendary” vaulted to the top of the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart and No. 2 on the Rock Digital Song Sales Chart, climbing to the Top 20 on the Adult Pop Airplay Chart.
