“Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” available now

Meeting widespread fan demand for holiday music, Jennifer Hudson presents a showstopping take on “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” via Epic Records.

Hudson’s instantly recognizable vocals lift this Christmas classic to heavenly heights backed by church bells, piano, and gospel-style harmonies. She adds a soulful touch to the Darlene Love original.

Earlier this year, she portrayed the “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin on the big screen in the hit film, Respect. Hudson was notably handpicked by Franklin to portray her in the film from MGM, which opened in theaters over the summer and is now available for purchase.

Hudson set the stage for the soundtrack with the original “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” — co-written with 4x GRAMMY Award winner, Kennedy Center Honoree, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductee Carole King (marking their first collaboration) and Jamie Hartman [Lewis Capaldi, Christina Aguilera]. GRAMMY Award-winning Black Eyed Peas co-founder and mega-producer will.i.am produced the track. She’s also released a version of “(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” The songs are one of 17 Franklin classics featured on the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Respect, available now via Epic Records.

Additional Jennifer Hudson news is expected soon.
