New single available now

Chicago-bred production duo, Louis The Child, drop their new single, “How High.” The title of the highly anticipated track, which samples an old Aretha Franklin song, was chosen by fans via a survey on socials for which they were ecstatic to have been able to play a part in the song’s release. Louis The Child have also been teasing the track at shows, festivals, and on socials over the last several months, causing “How High” to become a crowd favorite before its official release, and creating strong fan anticipation leading into the long-awaited drop. The track comes just ahead of the guys’ upcoming performance at Lollapalooza next week where they will undoubtedly give an incredible hometown performance. “How High” will be included on the pair’s forthcoming sophomore album and it is available now via Interscope Records.

“We made this song last year in Palm Springs between Coachella weekends,” the duo shares. “It’s a return to future bass with a hint of euphoria and my beautiful dark twisted fantasy. When we started playing it in our sets, our fans started calling it ‘Jump To It’ (cause those are the only words in the song). It samples an Aretha Franklin song called ‘Jump To It,’ and when we got the sample cleared they told us we were not allowed to name it ‘Jump To It,’ or any of those words from the original song. So we let our fans decide on the new name through an Instagram poll, and they chose ‘How High’. We’re so excited for the world to have it now! We know our fans have been waiting a while on this one.”

Additionally, Louis The Child recently announced their second annual Alter-Ego, a multi-stage takeover at the Brooklyn Mirage on August 19th where they will be playing a Black Marble set and a back-to-back headlining set with recently announced special guest, What So Not. The sought after event will give fans the opportunity to see their favorite artists step outside of their comfort zones and play experimental sets. Supporting artists on the lineup include Blonde Maze, Chromebodies, Joyride, The Knocks, Snakehips, and more. This year, the event will be bigger and better with an additional room designated to stand-up comedy and live improv, as well as a Space Yacht takeover in a separate room.

Louis The Child will also be playing a number of festivals this summer including Lollapalooza, Moonrise Festival, and they recently performed at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival last weekend. The guys will also play two shows this September 23rd and September 24th at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with the first show sold out.
