Fan favored track heads to country radio

Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records rising star Megan Moroney releases an acoustic version of her wildly popular song, “I’m Not Pretty.” Co-written by Moroney, Ben Williams, Mackenzie Carpenter and Micah Carpenter, the original track marks Moroney’s second single at country radio. “I’m Not Pretty” has already racked up over 2.6 million US streams per week and 47 million US streams to date. The song is set to impact country radio on August 7th.

“As a songwriter, I’ve always loved the stripped-back version of songs,” explains Moroney. “I feel like people are more likely to pay attention to the lyrics and I think it’s a pretty funny story. I’m excited to have this one out.”

Both versions of “I’m Not Pretty” were produced by Kristian Bush. The original was released earlier this year as part of her debut album Lucky.

With the official music video to come soon, the song follows Moroney’s first No. 1 with her Platinum-certified “Tennessee Orange,” which fueled her meteoric rise from independent artist to one of the most dynamic new voices in country music today.

After taking the stage at a multitude of summer festivals in the US and UK, she’ll kick off The Lucky Tour with her New York City debut at The Bowery Ballroom on September 20th. With many of the venues selling out within minutes, the tour will stop at major cities and iconic venues coast-to-coast, including Moroney’s first-time appearance as an in-demand headliner in Chicago at Joe’s on Weed St., Los Angeles’ The Troubadour, New Braunfels, TX’s Gruene Hall, and more.
