Track was co-written by the late Andrew Dorff, Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi, and Corey Crowder

Following the release of their song, “Tumbling Down,” country rock-infused band, Nashvillains, consisting of hit singer-songwriters Troy Johnson, Brett Boyett, and Scott Lindsey, have released “Who Don’t.”

The lively new track sets a buoyant tone as it shuffles through a long list of leisurely favorites, lyrically speaking, “I like to drive on an open road with the radio up and some ‘friends in low’… I like a band, I like a bar, I like to stay until the afterparty…” as it leads into the chorus asking the rhetorical question, “but who don’t?” The listener can feel the grin on lead vocalist Troy Johnson’s lips as he sings of all of the fixings of a guilt-free good time with his distinguished gritty voice, “Who doesn’t like a pretty girl’s smile, who don’t like to get wild?

The single is produced by hit songwriter, composer, and producer Steve Dorff, and is co-written by Dorff’s son, the late Andrew Dorff, Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi, and Tree Vibez Music writer Corey Crowder.

When the band went into the studio to record their forthcoming debut album, due out later this year, Steve brought the special song to the band’s attention, and they were instantly sold on recording it. Steve spoke of “Who Don’t” and his son, Andrew Dorff’s long list of unreleased material following his untimely passing in 2016, saying “it took the better part of a year to cherry-pick my favorite songs from Andrew’s catalog. The legacy is in his songs, and I work really hard at trying to keep that going – his catalog keeps living and breathing. ‘Who Don’t’ is one I always felt was hooky and could be a hit with the right artist. I always say what makes a hit is that marriage between a song and an artist, the right song and the right voice.”

Signed to Fate Entertainment, Nashvillains’ inception stemmed from the industry veterans’ and musicians’ shared love of country music and rock and roll. Each member has been successful in their own right before coming together for this unique project. Collectively, they have written and produced music for feature films, television shows, and major artists like The Chicks, Keith Urban, Cassadee Pope, James Taylor, Lauren Alaina, among many more.

Band members Brett Boyett and Scott Lindsey first met in a writing session where they shared a commonality on a creative vision; that the country music spectrum was in dire need of a rock meets outlaw country presence that flirts with sonic experimentation. Having been familiar with Troy Johnson through the songwriting community, Boyett pinned Troy Johnson and his gritty vocals as a potential third member when he learned that Lindsey shared his publishing company with the sought-after writer; the rest was history.

The newly formed group looks to create a fresh musical landscape by blurring lines between genres, bending the rules of convention, and expanding country music. The sonic landscape of the Nashvillains is accomplished through using traditional instrumentation with creative modern programming while emphasizing the dramatic and untold stories that are rarely touched upon by today’s popular country music.
